Isshin Ramen: Warm Up Over a Steaming Bowl of Soup

January 27, 2020

There’s nothing more satisfying than tucking in to a steaming hot bowl of ramen on a cold winter’s day, complete with savory broth, chewy noodles, and tender meat. Luckily, there is a new ramen spot in Adams Morgan to get your fill. Isshin Ramen opened last fall and masterfully prepares traditional ramen noodle soup bowls, donburi entrees, and delectable appetizers.

Start with gyoza, shumai, or a seaweed salad as a flavorful precursor of the Asian specialties to come. Then it’s onto your choice of donburi options like tonkatsu, beef bulgogi, and more, or the namesake ramen dishes. Go with ramen on your first visit, whether you prefer the lighter vegetarian option or signature cold version with soft boiled egg and secret sauce. Even the cold option is surprising comforting on a blustery winter day thanks to its spicy broth. Isshin Ramen opens daily at noon for lunch service, but closes in the mid-afternoon to reset for dinner at 5 p.m. (Monday through Thursday).
