Christkindlmarkt at the Heurich House Museum Returns This Weekend!

December 1, 2021

The Christkindlmarkt at the Heurich House Museum has become a local holiday tradition, but it looked different last year. After going completely virtual for 2020, celebrate the holiday market’s return to in-person shopping this December! From December 3rd to the 5th, the market returns to the Castle Garden at the Heurich House Museum. The entire event will remain outside in order to keep guests as comfortable and safe as possible.

Nab your ticket online and come to check out the wide array of giftable goodies for sale. Local artisans and craftspeople will set up shop under festively lit tents to sell their handcrafted goods. The products range from ceramic bowls and teapots to faux paper flowers, handmade jewelry, and even gourmet foods. Some of the vendors actually have prepared foods ready to eat on the spot or take home for dinner, such as freshly baked loaves of bread. If you want to learn more about the man who inspired this German-style holiday market, head to the mini-exhibit about Christian Heurich. The legendary local beer brewer might be best known for his Senate Beer, which will be re-released and available for tastings for this weekend only.
